Google Chromebooks Adopted By 2,000 Schools

Feb 4, 2013

BLING BLING: Google's Global Education Evangelist Jaime Casap announced that more than 2,000 schools have adopted Chromebooks--a "healthy 100% growth spurt during the past three months." Perhaps it helps that manufacturers are pumping out new Chromebook models seemingly every month, with the latest player being HP's 14-inch Chromebook that will retail for $329.99. Acer still offers the cheapest option with its $199 Chromebook, which is apparently doing quite well for the company. Its president, Jim Wong, shared that the company's C7 Chromebooks accounted for 5% to 10% of all U.S. computer shipments since November.
