Wishbone Offers Programs for Motivated Students

Nov 7, 2012

MORE THAN A WISH: Know a motivated, low-income student in New York or San Francisco who is longing to do a special program or internship but lacks the financial resources to make it happen? Take a look at the nonprofit, Wishbone. Last summer, Wishbone sent 60 students to summer programs that they thought they could only dream of attending. Students who look here will see a note that says Wishbone is "not currently accepting applications"--but don't believe it. Founder Beth Schmidt tells us that they still have a few spots for SF and NYC students who are keen to get into after-school and weekend programs during this school year. And for the uber-motivated in your crowd, Wishbone will even take a close look at applications for summer programs from students who already know what they want to do next June.
