MONTESSORIUM, which develops educational apps based on the Montessori learning philosophy, has raised $1 million from Bluestem Capital Appreciation Fund. Founded in 2010, the Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based startup currently offers seven iOS apps covering a range of skills, from coloring and cursive to math and geography. Montessorium is a graduate of the co.lab accelerator founded by Zynga.org and NewSchools Venture Fund. More details in the release.
