PLURALSIGHT'S HELPING HANDS: Pluralsight, in Farmington, UT, announced this past week that it acquired San Francisco-based HackHands. The price was not disclosed. Much like Lynda.com, Pluralsight offers a library of more than 3,500 courses and 10,000 hours of videos to support developer and IT training.
Pluralsight has been steadily building its footprint through a series of acquisitions, including plunking down $75 million last November to acquire Boston-based, Smarterer. HackHands will bring to Pluralsight live instructors--the equivalent of calling "911," according to Pluralsight cofounder and CEO, Aaron Skonnard. HackHands charges its customers $1 per minute for help from experts; it boasts 3,000 active experts.

Pluralsight itself has raised approximately $180 million from investors led by Insight Venture Partners, ICONIQ Capital and Sorenson Capital.
