MOOC FEEDBACK LOOP: Many an enterprising edupreneur offers up his or her own wisdom through blogs or YouTube channels, but not many of those aspiring to edtech glory have actually hunkered down and used their technology to educate themselves on… Well, edtech.
With a new MOOC from edX called “Design and Development of Educational Technology,” that may change. Through project-based learning, the course “examines educational technologies, outlines the theories that influenced their development, and examines their use.” At the end, students prepare a Kickstarter-style pitch for--you guessed it--their own educational technologies. All three staff members for the course come from a rich background in games--which means this course better be fun. (Could edX be developing its own competition?)
