IBM Plans to Put 'Watson' in Classrooms by 2016

MY DEAR WATSON: The IBM supercomputer that bested Ken Jennings at Jeopardy may soon be facing an even tougher test: teaching kids in classrooms. POLITICO reports that the creators of Watson have plans to introduce the machine as a teacher's assistant by 2016. These plans were also reiterated by IBM's education team at EDUCAUSE; the team contended that Watson can return "not only the best answer to a question but also the logic for how it reached that conclusion." Teachers who met Watson at a recent demonstration seemed a little unimpressed, however.
