Educator Launches Popular #SaveEdshelf Campaign

Jul 14, 2014

THE POWER OF A TWEET: Pre-service teacher Alicia Leonard demonstrated the power of Twitter recently when she decided to launch a #SaveEdshelf campaign after the company announced it was shutting down. An amateur Twitter user, Leonard explains in a recent blog post her surprise at how quickly news of the campaign traveled across the Twittersphere. Following some promotion by William Jenkins (@EdTech_Stories), other edu-Tweeters continued to spread the word and blog about #SaveEdShelf, include Tweet-savvy principal Eric Sheninger. Leonard reports, "I am getting more confident with Twitter, that is for sure. But more importantly, we are seeing results" in the form of increased web traffic on edshelf.
