TUTORSPREE is back from the dead--sort of. TechCrunch reports that WyzAnt, which raised $21.5 million last December to grow its online marketplace that connects students with tutors in their local areas, has acquired TutorSpree for a "very affordable price." TutorSpree had a similar product when it graduated from Y Combinator and raised $1.8 million, but ultimately closed shop last fall. The deal gives WyzAnt access to Tutorspree's students and tutors, which will help grow its already existing base of 500,000 tutors and one million students.
