Chinese (Simplified) and Modern Standard Arabic Translators

Why We Need You

We are seeking experienced freelance translators to translate and evaluate the quality of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. This is a 3-week project that requires linguistic expertise combined with understanding of special education contexts.  This is ideal for candidates who want to work with Goalbook toward actualizing our mission: We empower educators to transform instruction so that ALL students succeed.

Languages Needed:

- Chinese (Simplified)

-Modern Standard Arabic

Project Details

- Duration: 3 weeks

- Compensation: $210-$230 + $20 gift card for completing performance-based task

- Work Type: Remote/Freelance

Responsibilities

- Translate IEP goals accurately while maintaining educational and legal terminology precision

- Evaluate translation quality and provide feedback on existing translations.

- Ensure cultural appropriateness and accessibility of translated materials

- Complete performance-based assessment tasks

- Collaborate with project team using Google Suite applications

Required Qualifications

- Native or near-native proficiency in target language (Chinese Simplified OR Modern Standard Arabic)

- Experience in K-12 education OR personal familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

-Cultural sensitivity and awareness in educational contexts

Desired Qualifications

- Flexibility and ability to learn quickly

- Experience with Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, etc)

- Background in special education or disability services a plus

- Understanding of accessibility principles in education 

- Professional translation experience preferred
