Educated in Australia, Richard worked as a jackaroo in the outback before studying marketing (and dropping out). He worked in finance (which he hated) before falling into education by accident. He set up and ran a successful educational MARCOMS, was a director of several Australian start-ups (tech and non-tech) then lived in San Francisco with his wife during the dotcom boom. He then moved to London where he worked for the education department, then set up a business intelligence publication and an online education games business. In the last couple of years he has done many consultancy projects, been a business mentor, public speaker, judged start- up competitions and been an angel investor. Richard spent four years on the Independent Monitoring Board of London’s largest prison and when not working can often be found in a pigeon hide in Norfolk.
