Brief Biography

Ebony Frelix is the Senior Vice President of Philanthropy & Engagement at Salesforce.org, where she leads programs and strategic grants focused on education and workforce development. In her role, Ebony is responsible for engaging more than 25,000 employees in community service opportunities, as well as administering millions of dollars in grants to improve communities around the world.

Ebony and her team have achieved meaningful results with their work internationally in the areas of education and workforce development. Locally, she has led partnerships with San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and Oakland Unified School District (OUSD). Since 2013, Salesforce.org has given $22.5 million dollars and adopted 21 schools, as well as provided teacher training, technology and infrastructure to Bay Area schools in need. The partnership with SFUSD has led the district to become the first in the nation to require computer science curriculum to all students from pre-K to 12th grade.

For her accomplishments at Salesforce.org, Ebony has been recognized as one of San Francisco Business Times’ Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business, as well as one of San Francisco Business Times’ Beyond the Check award recipients two years in a row. She was also honored with the 2016 Rising Star Award. She is a member of the Workforce Investment San Francisco Board and the Year Up Bay Area Advisory Board.

Prior to joining Salesforce.org in 2014, Ebony spent five years in Salesforce’s technology division as the head of technology business operations. Before her time at Salesforce, she spent eleven years managing technology at Washington Mutual.

Ebony holds a bachelor’s degree in computer and information sciences from Golden Gate University.
