April Williamson is an Algebra teacher and instructional coach at Washington Leadership Academy in Washington, D.C. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Art, French and African Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Arts in Global Affairs from Yale University. Prior to becoming a math teacher, April was a global health researcher and manager. She has also served as an environmental health educator with the Peace Corps in Senegal and an AmeriCorps volunteer partnering with public middle schools in Madison, Wis.
