Brief Biography

Ana Homayoun is a noted teen and millennial expert, author, speaker and educator. Her work focuses on helping students develop empathy and executive functioning skills in today’s tech and social media world.

She is the author of three books: “The Myth of the Perfect Girl” (2012) and “That Crumpled Paper Was Due Last Week” (2010), both from TarcherPerigee Books, a division of Penguin Random House, as well as “Social Media Wellness: Helping Tweens and Teens Thrive in an Unbalanced Digital World” (2017), from Corwin. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic, Washington Post, Fast Company, CNBC, San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, ABC News and CNBC, among others, and she is a frequent guest on NPR.

Ana is the founder of Green Ivy Educational Consulting, an internationally recognized organization that works with thousands of parents, students, educators and employers. She travels to schools, universities and corporations consulting with parents, students, educators and employers about promoting intrinsic motivation, authentic engagement, and overall wellness. In early 2019, she launched the Life Navigator Middle School Program, a non-profit school advisory curriculum and school coaching program designed to promote executing functioning skills and student wellness as well as social and economic mobility.
