SMILE Plug offers Wi-Fi cloud to classrooms in developing nations

Jan 11, 2012

SAY CHEESE: Unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show, the SMILE Plug brings a 60-person Wi-Fi cloud to classrooms in developing nations. Developed at Stanford's Mobile Inquiry-based Learning Environment (SMILE, get it?), and produced by Marvell, this mini server creates a private Wi-Fi cloud for 60 people. There's much enthusiasm for its worldwide use in conjunction with the One Laptop Per Child XO 3.0 tablets.
