He is only one of other scientists taking a stab at nagging questions over just how much we retain when reading on e-readers and screens versus the printed page. One interesting hypothesis: our brains have evolved to recall information from spatial context and physical location keys. That gives libraries and print pages an advantage over e-reader devices (at least until we rewire the next generation).
