MINDSNACKS: $6.5 million in Series A round to SF-based Mindsnacks from Sequoia Capital, boosting its total funding to $8.5 million. MindSnacks, a graduate of the Startl accelerator program back in 2010, made its name with a series of language learning and test prep apps for iOS; its Spanish and French apps are among the top 10 earners in the Apple education app store. Now its aiming to expand to geography, math, and other subjects aimed at high school and college students, according to TechCrunch. (Psst!
