THAILAND'S OTCP: The governments of Thailand and China have signed a memorandum to import 860,000 tablets from China for all--yes folks, all--first-grade students in Thailand as part of a one-tablet-per-child project, reports TheNextWeb. They're also working on making WiFi available in every school. There's still some price haggling left, especially as Chinese telecom giant Huawei is balking at the $60 per tablet price tag--half its retail price--proposed by the Thai government. (For some context, here's a recent editorial from The Nation on Thailand's problems with education and youth.)
