Kide Science, a STEAM Education Program for Young Children, Raises €1.5 Million

May 27, 2020

KIDE SCIENCE, a Helsinki, Finland-based developer of educational science programs and activities for children ages 3 to 8, has raised €1.5 million (approx. US $1.7 million) in a seed round led by Sparkmind.vc, a Nordic education technology investment fund. Previous investors, including Zanichelli Venture, also participated.

Founded in 2017, Kide Science offers lesson plans for parents, and professional development for teachers, to help children learn about STEAM (science, technology engineering, arts and mathematics) through storytelling and play-based learning activities. The company claims customers in 14 countries, including Finland, where it is used by the largest private kindergarten chain, serving 10,000 children across 200 locations.

According to the press release, the funding will support the company’s international expansion efforts, with a focus on Asian countries and the homeschooling market.

To date, Kide Science has raised €2.4 million. This deal marks the third investment from Sparkmind.vc, which announced the launch of its €40 million edtech fund in March.
