ISTE 2020 Conference Rescheduled for November

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), the parent organization of EdSurge, has announced new dates for its annual conference.

Originally scheduled to be held June 28 to July 1, ISTE 2020 will now take place November 28 to December 1, 2020. It will remain in the same location: the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Like many other conferences across every industry, ISTE 2020 was impacted by the coronavirus and measures enacted to curb its spread.

“Educators are on the frontlines of this pandemic right now, and we know they are grappling with tremendous uncertainty in the weeks to come,” ISTE CEO Richard Culatta said in a statement. “We decided—in consultation with the regional health officials and members of the ISTE community—that moving the event to November enables us to safely host the incredible learning experience that educators count on every year.”

He added: “Moving the conference also allows us to put our complete attention on supporting schools and districts with the support they need as they transition to online learning. While we’ll keep much of the same rich content when we gather this fall, we will also have a chance to highlight examples of amazing creativity during this period of online learning.”
