Schola, a Phoenix-based startup behind an app that lets parents find and enroll their children in preK-12 schools, has raised $875,000 in a seed round led by Romi Dhillon, founder and managing director of Arizona Founders Fund. Other investors include Stout Street Capital and LearnLaunch, the Boston-based accelerator program for edtech startups.
Launched in 2017, Schola offers a platform where parents can search for nearby schools based on criteria around specific services, resources and instructional models (like Montessori). Schola covers more than 220 cities across 29 states, and makes about $50,000 in revenue per month, according to the Phoenix Business Journal, which first reported the deal. The seed fund will support its efforts to grow its headcount beyond its current staff of four.
