EMS Linq Buys SchoolFinance to Boost K-12 Financial Management Services

EMS Linq, a Wilmington, N.C.-based administrative software service provider for K-12 schools and districts, has purchased SchoolFinance, a Wyoming, Mich.-based K-12 financial management system.

Linq bought the system to improve reporting services forK-12 financial administrators, according to a statement Monday. SchoolFinance also has features that include payroll, benefits administration and attendance tracking.

SchoolFinance was developed by Optimal Solutions, which provides network infrastructure, network storage and wireless technology integration services. Optimal also developed eVideon, a brand of media management devices for hospitals and schools.

Founded in 1989, Linq serves over 2,700 districts and over 26,000 schools in 48 states. Its products include Meals Plus, eSchoolView and K12PaymentCenter.

Other school finance related acquisitions this year include Allovue and Equiday as well as Frontline Education and Perennial EdTech.
