Apple Device Manager, Jamf Acquires a Competitor (Now Companion)

Feb 6, 2019

JUST JAMMIN’: Jamf, a Minneapolis-based company that offers Apple device management tools used by businesses, schools and government organizations, has acquired ZuluDesk, which provides a similar service for the education market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2002 by a student at the University of Wisconsin, Jamf claims its Apple mobile device management tools are used in more than 8,000 schools. Add to this ZuluDesk’s existing 6,000 school customers, and together Jamf boasts a footprint of 14,000 education customers across the world.

ZuluDesk was founded in 2014 at a school in the Netherlands, and its entire team will be joining Jamf. ZuluDesk also offers other tools, like a companion to Apple’s Classroom app, that will be rolled into Jamf’s suite of offerings in the near future. More details in the press release.
