CODE ANGELS: Juni Learning, a San Francisco-based startup that connects children with computer science instructors for private online tutoring, has raised $790,000 in an angel round. Investors include Arielle Zuckerberg (yup, sister of Mark), Y Combinator’s Jessica Livingston and Adora Cheung, and Deborah Quazzo, managing partner at GSV AcceleraTE.
Founded in 2017, Juni Learning currently offers nine courses geared for children ages 5 to 18; subjects range from introductory computer science principles and Scratch, to Python and AP Computer Science. Classes start at $160 per month for a semi-private class (2 students) and run up to $450 per month.
According to the press announcement, the company “teaches thousands of classes every month to students in 27 U.S. states and 10 countries.”
