Institute of Education Sciences to Offer Up to $4M for Research Into Educational Tools

Jun 12, 2018

UNCLE SAM NEEDS YOUR HELP (AND WILL PAY): The Institute of Education Sciences is offering grants up to $4 million to fund the research, development and evaluation of educational services and assessments. In all, there are 13 topics—spanning early learning to adult education—for which developers can apply for support. One of them, simply dubbed “Education Technology,” aims to support research into how existing or new tech can be applied to improve academic achievement of preK-12 students.

All the gory details in the RFA. (Education entrepreneurs would be hard-pressed to be working on something that doesn’t fall into one of the 13 categories.) Letters of intent are due on June 21; applications must be submitted by August 23.
