MONEY COUNTING: Just two months after raising $735,000, ClassWallet is adding $2.3 million in what the company is calling an extension of its seed funding round. The new raise was led by Florida Funders and Rainfall Ventures, but also included Brentwood Associates and other current investors. The Miami-based ClassWallet, which makes software that helps schools and districts manage expenditures and accounting practices, is used in more than 2,000 schools across the country, and has a statewide contract in New Mexico, and a new one in North Carolina to manage education savings account grants. In a statement, the company said it has raised more than $7 million to date; additional investors include NewSchools Venture Fund and Sinovation Ventures.
Disclosure: NewSchools Venture Fund has invested in EdSurge.
