Sep 6, 2017

GUILD EDUCATION: Denver-based education benefits company Guild Education has raised $21 million in a Series B financing round led by Bessemer Ventures. According to a press release, Redpoint Ventures, Harrison Metal and Cowboy Ventures also participated in the raise. In an email to EdSurge, a spokesperson said a “significant part” of the new funding will go towards growing the company’s team, expanding Guild’s technology products for employees and employers, as well as “bringing on new partners to the Guild platform.”

Guild partners with employers, including Chipotle and DaVita, and universities to give front-line employees tuition assistance to support their college education. The company moved to Denver in March 2016 after its founders finished their graduate degrees at Stanford. Here’s a recent profile of the company, as well as a Q&A with its CEO, Rachel Carlson.
