PRODIGY FINANCE, a London-based provider of loans to international students who want to attend American universities, has raised $40 million in a Series C round from Index Ventures, Balderton Capital and AlphaCode. It also secured a $200 million credit line from an undisclosed bank, which will be used to finance loans. Founded in 2007, Prodigy Finance claims to have helped more than 7,100 students across 118 countries borrow over $325 million on its website. More details from NYTimes.
