HOOKED ON PHONICS IXL, a K-12 learning platform that serves more than 6 million students worldwide, is expanding its phonics offerings for Pre-K to first graders. The new phonics content is aimed at teaching foundational literacy skills.
IXL is an adaptive program designed to allow students differentiated support across subjects and grade-levels. It allows students to build reading fluency slowly through developmentally appropriate tasks, including drag-and-drop practice questions designed to appeal to younger students.
For teachers, the program also boasts an analytics system that allows them to view student practice in real time, as well as get information about students' problem areas and yearlong trends.
