ON THE FRONTLINE: Education software provider Frontline Education has acquired eSPED, an Andover, Mass.-based software information services developer for educators, administrators and parents of children with special needs. Founded in 1999, eSPED provides cloud-based application and products, like the company's eSTAR series, made to help "streamline the multi-authoring and shared ownership of special population documents."
"We understand the unique challenges of efficiently managing programs and processes for children with personalized education needs," said Tim Clifford, CEO of Frontline Education, in a prepared statement. "This acquisition allows us to extend that support to more districts, educators and parents who need it."
The announcement marks Frontline Education's third acquisition in the Special Education and Interventions market and fifth overall acquisition for 2016. To-date, the company claims to serve more than 8,500 education organizations.
