THE KNOWLEDGE ERA: The latest State of American Jobs report from Pew Research Center finds employment is growing faster in jobs requiring more experience, education and training. The national survey of 5,006 U.S. adults conducted May to June 2016 also shows 54 percent of these workers think ongoing training is “essential” to career success, especially to those working in the STEM industry. When it comes to career preparedness and learning the right skills, Americans (72 percent) believe the individual holds the greatest responsibility, with K-12 public education coming in second (60 percent).
