Newsela Launches Library Feature to Offer History, Biographies

Aug 22, 2016

MORE THAN THE NEWS: Four-year-old literacy startup Newsela has launched a new library collection to help hone students’ reading and critical thinking skills. Now teachers and pupils can access nonfiction materials beyond news articles adapted to different reading levels.

Chief executive Matthew Gross says tells TechCrunch that this update includes primary source materials on topics including civil rights history to biographies of world influencers. As with news articles, the library will offer adapted versions of historical documents for readers of all levels to understand. The library provides literature in English and Spanish.
