Knowmia Announces It's Closing Up Shop on August 31

Aug 2, 2016

COMING TO AN END: Announced to users in an email on August 1 and on the TechSmith site way back in late May, interactive K-12 video platform Knowmia has announced that it will be closing up Knowmia.com and and its corresponding Teach apps on August 31, along with two of TechSmith's other products: ScreenChomp and the Snagit for Google Chrome extension. Founded back in 2012 when Flip Video co-founder Ariel Braunstein and former marketing director Scott Kabat launched the platform, Knowmia went on to get acquired by TechSmith in 2014. However, TechSmith appears to have decided to focus more of its efforts on other branches of its company. "We've decided to end support and retire these products so we can increase our focus on our flagship offerings, Snagit and Camtasia," the company wrote on its announcement of the shutdown. Knowmia has yet to respond to EdSurge's requests for comment.
