Employment Platform Skillful Goes Live in Colorado

Mar 17, 2016

STATEWIDE SKILL-UP: Coloradans looking for work just might be in luck this St. Patrick's Day. The state went live with Skillful, a platform to connect job-seekers with educators who can help them get training and acquire new skills. It's geared toward "middle-skill job seekers"—individuals with a high-school diploma, but not a four-year degree. People looking for jobs will have access to companies that are hiring, the skills required and where to find training, and career coaches.

“Colorado has long been committed to ensuring our workers have access to the skills they need to get ahead and Skillful provides a powerful new tool for job seekers to do that,” Governor John Hickenlooper said in a press release. A number of partners, including LinkedIn, edX and Arizona State University, are partnering with Skillful to expand offerings. The platform will initially focus on careers in advanced manufacturing and IT. It will go live in Phoenix early next month.
