SUPER STUDENTS: Students kick butt every week, but we’d like to call out two in particular today: Eleven-year-old Marley Dias told her Mom that she was sick of what she was reading at school because she couldn’t identify with the “white boys and dogs” who were so often the main characters. So, she launched #1000BlackGirlBooks as a book drive, and hopes to collect 1,000 books featuring black female protagonists by February 1. Powerful stuff, huh? And Cedrick Argueta, a senior at LAUSD’s Abraham Lincoln High School, was one of only 12 students in the entire world to earn a perfect score on the AP Calculus AB exam.
