Chromebooks Now Make Up Half of US Classroom Devices Sold

Dec 4, 2015

UNITED STATES OF CHROME: Futuresource Consulting has found that, in Q3 of this year, Chromebooks dominated US edtech: They comprised 51 percent of devices shipped. The Chrome operating system likewise accounts for 51 percent of operating systems in the US, though it only occupies three percent of the global operating system landscape. In a comparison with the 2013 market, Chromebooks and other computers under $300 had more than doubled their share of the market, growing from 25 percent to 53 percent. The study did not account for desktop computers or bring-your-own device approaches.
