Sep 29, 2015

GENIUS INCUBATOR: The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation awards “genius grants” every year—$650,000 over five years without stipulations. Of the distinguished 2015 class, announced September 28th, one caught our eye: Patrick Awuah. He’s the founder and president of Ashesi University in Accra, Ghana, a university grounded in the sciences and the first in Africa to require students to sign an honor code, according to the Foundation. Awuah, educated in American universities, began his career as a Microsoft engineer in 1989 and founded Ashesi University in 2002.
