SmackHigh Raises $1.65M for Student Messaging Board That Smacks Down on Bullying

Aug 24, 2015

SMACKHIGH, a Boston, MA-based startup that graduated from the Techstars accelerator, has raised $1.65 million in a seed round from Flybridge Capital Partners, Boston Seed Capital and angel investor, Wayne Chang. Founded in 2013, SmackHigh offers a social messaging platform that allows high school students to post to their local communities. While the site looks very familiar to Yik Yak, another “hyperlocal” messaging board for teens, SmackHigh’s founders insist that company representatives make sure all conversations—or smack talk—remain civil.
