COMPLIR: Acquisition of Halifax, Canada based-Complir by Lynda.com. Complir provides a cloud-based platform for people to learn, write and test code from within a browser. No financial terms were disclosed. TechCrunch estimates the sale at $20 million. Complir was bootstrapped by founders Patrick Hankinson and Tim Speed although not by choice. In this piece in Entrevestor.com, the founders have noted that they were rejected by about three dozen venture funds. The company charges a monthly subscription fees ($10/month).
