SMARTERER: $1.6 million to Boston, MA-based Smarterer in a round led by Rethink Education, with Deborah Quazzo (GSV Advisors founder and Managing Partner), True Ventures and Boston Seed Capital also participating. Rethink Education's Managing Partner, Rick Segal, will join the board. The company has now raised $4.6 million. The startup began in late 2010 offering a test platform that measures users' proficiency at popular programs and apps like Gmail and Adobe Photoshop. Now it has a new enterprise tool that helps companies assess their employees' knowledge and skills. BostInno reports 25 million questions have been answered in 2.3 million test sessions on Smarterer.
