ConnectEDU Closes $5.5M Raise

CONNECTEDU: Privately heldBoston-based ConnectEDU raised $5.5 million from its existing funders in June. In May, the company also announced that Evan Nisonson was promoted to CEO. Nisonson succeeded Craig Powell, who founded the company in 2002 and served as CEO since 2009. Nisonson joined ConnectEDU in 2012 when it acquired Epsilen and had served as the company's Chief Services Officer. ConnectEDU has 20 million registered learners, 5,000 educational institutions and 130,000 employees throughout 40 countries. What exactly does it do? According to the site, it "prepares and transitions 21st Century Learners on their pathways from school to college to career, helping them realize their potential, achieve a secure financial future, and ultimately connect to life's possibilities."
