Maker Faire for Educators

May 1, 2013

MAKER FAIRE EDU: Maker Faire is right around the corner, and in addition to the exciting events of the May 18-19 weekend -- chock full of speakers, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and awe-inspiring fire-shooting three-story creations -- there are also a number of educational opportunities for teachers. The Educator Meetup, exclusively for educators, will take place on Thursday, May 16 from 4pm to 7pm on the San Mateo Fairgrounds in Sequoia Hall. Admission is free, and there will be a number of opportunities for learning, sharing, and of course, hands-on making.

Organizers have also set aside 500 free single-day tickets for educators who wish to attend Maker Faire on May 18-19. These are available on a first-come, first-serve basis! In order to receive a free ticket:

  1. Fill out this short educational Interest survey: http://eepurl.com/xiEXj
  2. Send a photo and a short (2-5 sentence) description of a project that you have created, either on your own, with your students, and/or in your classrooms with the subject line "Free Teacher Ticket."

You will receive an Eventbrite ticket code redeemable for 1 free single-day adult ticket on the Maker Faire ticket website within 2 weeks. Send any questions to the Maker Faire Education Team.
