Skillshare Scores $1M from Zappos' Tony Hsieh

Feb 5, 2013

SKILLSHARE: $1 million to New York-based Skillshare from Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh through his VegasTechFund. This brings the company's total financing to $4.65 million. The funds will help drive international growth for Skillshare's online learning community and expand its team, a move that will include establishing an office in Las Vegas. TechCrunch reports that the deal materialized after the Skillshare team worked with Hsieh last year on his ambitious revitalization project in Las Vegas (Here's our take on Hsieh's "Downtown Project.")
