IAC Acquires Tutor.com

TUTOR.COM: Acquired by IAC (InterActiveCorp), which also owns a number of brand name consumer Internet businesses such as Ask.com and OkCupid, for an undisclosed price. Tutor.com was founded in 1998 as an online destination for anywhere, anytime 1:1 help for K-12 subjects, AP courses, test prep, and writing assistance. The company boasts over 2,500 screened and qualified tutors and eight million tutoring sessions since 2001. Founder and CEO George Cigale will continue to lead the New York-based company.
