Kuato Studios' Frank Meehan Moving into Learning Games

Jul 4, 2012

OPEN YOUR MIND: Speaking of games, be on the lookout for Kuato Studios, based in London. (Just be careful doing a Google image search.) Chief exec Frank Meehan hails from a decorated background that includes a stint at Horizons Ventures (private venture arm of Asia's richest man, Li Ka-shing). The early prototype he showed us revolved around terraforming a virtual world through coding and science. Meehan has a team of cherry-picked designers and developers of triple-A titles hard at work to deliver a polished version, anticipated later this year. Frankly (ha...), he loathes buzzwords like "adaptive," and so duly hinted at how the system will employ Siri's AI technology to understand and react to players' behavior. (He was formerly on the board of Siri before it was acquired by Apple.) Still early days, of course, but we'll be keeping an eye out for sure. VentureBeat has more details.
