West Corporation Acquires Another School Messaging Tool

Nov 3, 2014

SCHOOL REACH: Acquired by West Corporation, a provider of telecom services for a broad range of industries. Financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 2002 in St. Louis, MO, School Reach provides small school districts and private schools with communication and notification tools.

West Corporation also acquired this year a similar company with a similar name, SchoolMessenger, which is operating as a subsidiary. SchoolMessenger has built 250 custom mobile apps for its school and district clients. With the acquisition, the press release claims it "now serves nearly half of all K-12 students enrolled in the US." We're sure it's keeping close tabs on Remind, a popular (and free) teacher-parent-student texting tool currently dominating app stores.
