New Reduced Pricing For Amplify's All-In-One Tablet

Sep 8, 2014

WHEN I DIP, YOU DIP, WE DIP: Last week Amplify announced a price dip for its all-in-one tablet, which made headlines last year after some of its chargers melted. It was originally priced at $299 for the device alone; additionally, districts had to pay $99 per year for pre-loaded software and content. Now, schools will pay $359 for the first year (which includes software and content) and $60 for each subsequent year.

Along with the price changes, the company also shared new features, which include a marketplace for educational apps and games, along with a quiz generator and a playlist builder that allows teachers to organize digital content for students to work through. A tablet case and keyboard, will cost $45 and $30, respectively.

Perhaps these changes will entice more schools to purchase the tablet. Currently, the only large scale rollout Amplify has publicized is in Guilford County School District, which purchased 15,000 tablets in summer 2013. Guilford County is set to deploy over 19,000 Amplify tablets this school year.
