​FreshGrade Raises $4.3M to Aid Parent/Teacher Communication

FRESHGRADE: $4.3 million to British Columbia-based FreshGrade, in a seed round led by NewSchools Venture Fund, Emerson Collective, Accel Partners and The Social+Capital Partnership. Founded in 2011, FreshGrade aims to facilitate communication between parents and educators, enabling teachers to set up student portfolios demonstrating student progress. The Surrey School District, the largest district in British Columbia, will begin using FreshGrade for the 2014-2015 school year, PR Newswire reports.
