InBloom Closes Its Doors

Apr 21, 2014

WE REACH THE END: Data warehousing platform inBloom is officially shutting down. This morning, inBloom CEO Iwan Streichenberger announced on inBloom's website that he has "made the decision to wind down the organization over the coming months." In his public statement, Streichenberger describes that inBloom's original intentions were to address complex challenges related to the handling of student data, but that over the course of the past few years, inBloom has become "the subject of mischaracterizations and a lightning rod for misdirected criticism." He delves further in inBloom's defense, writing:

It is a shame that the progress of this important innovation has been stalled because of generalized public concerns about data misuse, even though inBloom has world-class security and privacy protections that have raised the bar for school districts and the industry as a whole.
