ELLEVATION: Boston-based Ellevation, which delivers software to support English Language Learners and their teachers, raised $2.35 million from nine investors, which include: NewSchools Venture Fund, long-time entrepreneur and policymaker, Chris Gabrieli, Rethink Education, along with Lynda Schubert Bodman, Adam Miller, Rick Burnes, Niko Klein, Josh Tolkoff and Eileen Rudden. Jordan Meranus, CEO and co-founder of Ellevation, was formerly a partner with NewSchools Venture Fund, a co-founder of the nonprofit, Jumpstart, and a teacher.
