SUBTEXT: Acquired by Renaissance Learning for an undisclosed sum. Founded in 2010 in Mountain View, CA, Subtext offers a platform where teachers can integrate lesson plans, quizzes, and other media and social content into e-books. According to the press release, these features will be integrated with Renaissance Learning's existing Accelerated Reader program in an updated version which will be available later this year. Subtext will operate as its own product group under Renaissance Learning, and its current CEO, Andrew Goldman, will stay on as general manager.
